patience is a virtue

so i decided to make this blog in order to be more personal.
well, i graduated in june and transitioning from being independent and on my own (since i was 14) to living back at home has been TOUGH to say the least.
i've been applying to jobs like crazy, but i've come to find that they're either
1) not hiring
2) i dont have enough experience
3) they don't look at my resume because i don't live in that area (even though i specifically say that i will relocate and fly out for an interview on my own dime)
4) or after getting a call from HR, i can't get in touch with them (my calls go directly to voicemail, they dont answer email) seriously. frustrating.

and even if i look for internships they're all
1) unpaid (which my parents will not let me do since i've already done that before and it really is a financial burden)
2) not taking college graduates. gah!!!

while i've been enjoying funemployment as much as i can (not having to wake up or be stressed about a job) i really want a "big girl" job, make money and move! the only thing is that my parents will not let me move on my own unless i have a job. *SIGH*

all the while i feel like i'm "Stuck". i feel like people are judging me because i don't have a job and am living at home, and it's even a burden in my relationship - (i am in a long distance relationship). i live in a very rural area so there aren't many opportunities for me here... i am looking for a big corporate job. i would even consider going back to retail, but the most decent mall near me is 2 hours away! and when it comes to retail i will call and they say i have to go in the store to apply... it is such a hassle! i feel like everyone else has been able to get jobs since they live in a city, or all my friends are getting engaged. its been hard...

i've been praying and being patient... but i am just the most UNpatient person and i just need a change!!! sigh. i'm really sick of being trapped under the rubble of the collapsed economy. and now, with a new graduating class coming in, i'm even MORE worried that i won't find a job with more competition!

has anyone else been in this situation?

blogspot help

hi everyone! please forgive me as I am new to figuring out how blogger works.  I've tried new blogs in blogger for years but never quite figured out how to make it pretty.  I see such CUTE blogs and I have no idea how to customize my layouts!  I thought of finding someone who makes templates but I saw they ranged from either $100 to $1200!!! No thank you!  So I'm asking all of you guys- do you know of any great blogger layout makers that offer their services for Free or at least reasonably priced? and do you have any design tips?
Thanks everyone!

Sexy in my Louboutins

I certainly don't remember any of these fabulous men dancing throughout the halls of Hearst!  Elle Magazine editor, Julie Vadnal, stars in this fun pop music video in which she transforms into a pop singer.  And can we discuss her perfect hair bun?  The song and video is quite catchy and fun- and so awesome that she co-wrote it with the infamous Grammy winning song writer Kara DioGuardi!  Random fact:  Kara DioGuardi has written numerous songs and worked with pretty much every single pop artist out there such as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson... the list goes on!  Who hasn't secretly dreamed of being a popstar?!

Florals for Spring? Groundbreaking.

I just snagged these floral printed denim shorts tonight for an unbelievable price.
I got these babies for $3.
Yep that's right- 3 Dollars! And surprisingly enough, even though I didn't try them on at the fitting room, they fit PERFECTLY!  I tried looking online but it looks like they're sold out.

While floral shorts and bottoms are all the rage now like these Citizens of Humanity floral shorts selling at $172 - I got these for a steal!  Here Ciara wears her pair with  a white racerback top and gladiators.

My brother of course thought they were hideous and said "It's like you're trying to be hot, but the florals are so Grandma." Hahaha!  I admit,  they are reminiscent of Grandma and you might be "man-repelling" in these, but I love how 90's they are!  (And we all know I rocked that 90's HARD)  I'm gonna pair this with a lace top and leather sandals for a bohemian look that would be perfect for music festivals. I think when it comes to floral prints, it's best to pair it with solid colors and let it be the statement piece of your outfit.

If you're wary about this trend, try and scope out the sale racks or cheaper stores such as Forever 21, Target or even thrift stores for authentic 80's and 90's pieces.  Then you can try out the trend without paying so much!   I saw a lot of really cute and budget friendly versions out there.

I was looking at this the other day at Target- I love that this comes with a cute leather studded belt!

What do you guys think?  Will you rock floral denim shorts when it gets warmer out?
